Overview

PEER and NEESit will host OpenSees Days 2008 at the University of California, Berkeley Richmond Field Station (RFS )  in Richmond, CA in September 2008.

 

  • Monday, September 8: OpenSees User Workshop
  • Tuesday, September 9: OpenSees Modeling Workshop

 

Students, researchers, and practitioners are welcome to attend any ofthedays. Registration is free, lunch is provided, but space is limited to the first 100 applicants, andregistration closes August 31, 2008.

 

September 8: OpenSees User Workshop
PEER Classroom: Richmond Field Station Building 454

The annual one-day workshop on how to use OpenSees will be more hands-on this year. This workshop isintended for beginning and intermediate users. This workshop willintroduce users to the tcl scripting language, and basic modeling andanalysis techniques using OpenSees. View agenda.

 

September 9: OpenSees Modeling Workshop
PEER Classroom: Richmond Field Station Building 454

A one-day workshop with presentations by current OpenSees users on various modeling techniques. Models discussed will include reinforced concrete, steel, soils, and soil-structure interaction. Users and developers at all levels are encouraged to attend the workshop. View agenda.

Location:

The Workshops will be held at the UC Berkeley Field Station, an off-campus facility. For driving direction, please map:

1301 South 46th Street, Richmond, CA.

Please purchase a 50-cent parking permit to be displayed on your dashboard for each day. If the ticket dispenser is broken, don't worry about the permit.

First enter the gate, when the road takes a turn to the left, go straight and park in the parking lot at the end of the building that is on the right hand side.


 Hotel Information:

There are no hotels in the proximity of the richmond field station.

I you rent a car, I recommend the following, as it is the closest:
